I did this drawing 30 days after surgery to repair a detached retina in my right eye. Gas is put into the eye to push the retina back into place and hold it there under pressure. The gas bubble breaks up over about six weeks and eventually disappears. I thought it was so pretty that I did this drawing on day 30 so I could record it while I still could.
