I spent most of January and some of February picking away at building my new studio. This also meant getting rid of the old family room and building a new den upstairs. I also needed to build a lot of storage shelving a) for paintings and b) for general storage since the house doesn't have much storage space. I wanted a neutral color for the studio walls, so I chose a light, cool grey--Benjamin Moore #2140, "Moonshine". I also wanted to be able to paint at night, so I installed 5000ƒK "daylight", ceiling mounted fluorescent fixtures. I still have lots of junk to get rid of, but at least I have a good place to work now and I am grateful for that. Eventually, I want to get a studio easel, but my Jullian does fine in the meantime. These pictures and the floor plan will give you a good idea of how I am getting my studio set up. I've really enjoyed building this space and I am very happy to share it with you. Sorry the pics aren't better, but it was too bright with the lights on and too dark with them off. |

This is how I expect it will end up but I can't bring in the drawing board until I get the couch out. No room! |
